Hiring a tree climber (employee or contract) to climb trees utilizing proper climbing gear as required and assisting with clean-up. This position is also responsible for assisting in ensuring workplace safety with consistent and fair application of all company employment policies. Valid driver license and insurability is required for this position. Jobs include commercial and residential properties.

Essential Duties:

• Ability to climb trees using rigging techniques & utilizing lift equipment to safely take down trees.
• Trimming large & small trees, hedges and shrubs.
• Safely removing unwanted, dead or damaged trees.
• Assists with loading and unloading trucks with logs, brush, debris and feed brush into wood chipper.
• Monitoring and maintaining plant health.
• Safety and training – understand equipment operations, work process, and safety procedures for employees.
• Maintains adherence to company safety policies and good practices following OSHA specifications.
• Participates in incident investigations and compliance paperwork as required.
• Oversee vehicles, and equipment and maintaining in compliance with company policies.
• Inspects vehicles, machinery, equipment and tools for proper working order.
• Communicates repairs to ownership and assists with repairs as needed.
• Work with team crew members regarding safe and efficient practices for trimming and tree removal.
• Maintain positive service team engagement and relations between crew members.
• Executes maximum efficiency and productivity of self and team members on and off job sites.
• Evaluates and safeguards team members and public from hazards in and around the work area. Sets up warning signs, flags, barriers, etc.
• Maintenance of saws, vehicles, and equipment.
• Experience driving trucks and essential trailers.
• Possess ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds.

Requirements:

• Prior related experience with a tree service company or department.
• Knowledge of established tree industry hazards, standards, practices, procedures and techniques.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem solving skills with excellent leadership skills and be able to handle stressful situations along with being able to multi-task.
• Organizational skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Meet physical requirements for position.
• Pass all drug and alcohol screenings as required by company policy and if applicable required by DOT regulations.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred:

• CDL a plus (Class B)
• ISA Arborist Certification or other applicable certifications
• Qualified or obtain a DOT Medical Certification
