Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Credentialing Specialist to join our team in Sacramento, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards within our organization. The selected candidate will oversee credentialing processes, monitor essential documents and certifications, and support various administrative needs related to provider credentialing.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the credentialing process for all medical staff and advanced practice providers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and bylaws.
- Monitor and track expirables such as licenses, liability insurance, certifications, and immunization records to maintain up-to-date documentation.
- Maintain and update the credentialing database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of provider information.
- Collaborate with practitioners to ensure timely and thorough completion of applications, addressing any deficiencies or compliance requirements.
- Assemble verified information and present credentialing files to leadership for review and recommendations.
- Respond to affiliation requests from other facilities and generate case logs as needed.
- Oversee ongoing proctoring, peer reviews, and other compliance-related activities.
- Utilize credentialing software to streamline processes and ensure efficiency.
- Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Quality Care & Billing. Requirements - Minimum of two years of experience in credentialing or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with credentialing software and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Certification or formal training in a related area is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal requirements related to credentialing.
