About Us:

The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and our community partners are at the forefront of driving digital innovation and engagement across Saline County, Kansas. Our mission is to harness digital platforms and technologies to promote economic growth, attract investment, and enhance community development. We are looking for a Digital Designer to join our marketing team with a focus on cultivating and maintaining our digital assets.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a talented web & graphic designer with strong UX/UI sensibilities and digital branding skills to serve as Digital Designer and support the development of a new, SEO-optimized website. This individual will play a central role in crafting visual assets and layouts that align with our new brand identity and resonate with our key audiences. The ideal candidate has a passion for clean, accessible, and responsive design, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Website Design & Layout

• Collaborate with marketing and web development teams to design a modern, user-focused, SEO-optimized website for Salina’s digital campaign.
• Create wireframes, mockups, page layouts, and responsive designs optimized for desktop and mobile.
• Ensure alignment with branding guidelines, visual identity, and accessibility best practices.

Graphic Design & Brand Visuals

• Develop visual content for web and digital campaigns including icons, infographics, banners, social media graphics, and digital ads.
• Assist with developing brand guidelines and templates for ongoing content creation.

Creative Collaboration

• Work closely with the Director of Marketing and content creators to translate strategic messaging into compelling visual formats.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide design direction based on user behavior and marketing goals.

SEO & Performance Awareness

• Incorporate SEO best practices into site structure, page design, and visual hierarchy to support content discoverability.
•  Collaborate with developers and content specialists to ensure optimal site speed and performance.

Qualifications:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of web and graphic design principles, including SEO, content management systems, and analytics software.
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•  Creative and analytical thinker with a passion for community development and economic growth.
•  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What We Offer:

  Salary: $62,000-$70,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience.
