Basic Function: The EDI Support Specialist operates assigned computer systems and coordinates the planning, scheduling, and implementation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) communication and other business technology with electronic trading partners for both retailers and suppliers. Essential Functions:
  • Supports the company’s EDI relationships through effective communication with existing and new trading partners.
  • Troubleshoots and solves routine operating problems and day-to-day EDI transaction flow problems by working with trading partners.
  • Resolves data discrepancies related to data exchanged with trading partners.
  • Sets up trading partner partnerships in EDI systems.
  • Manages trading partner support issues including performing analysis of processes, mapping, testing, implementation, and related documentation.
  • Researches escalations from internal tracking system for ongoing issues.
  • Contributes to the improvement of implementation and support processes and manages assigned tasks independently.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Attends training as directed by GNE.
Qualifications and Experience: Required
  • At least 2 years of related work experience and proficiency with EDI concepts, standards, and architectures such as 810, 846, 850, 855, 856 documents.
  • Experience with EDI software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows platform and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player and independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work at a high level of detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively while being flexible.
  • Thorough knowledge of data processing systems and equipment as related to assigned work.
Preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Experience with SPS Commerce – Data Masons EDI software.
