We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to join our team. This role is integral to our construction projects, overseeing all operations from beginning to end. The ideal candidate will have a background in heavy civil construction, specifically bridge construction, and will have a deep understanding of the construction industry's complexities and challenges. Responsibilities:

As a Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing all stages of project life cycle management, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
2. Supervising and coordinating the activities of construction teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
3. Ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
4. Coordinating and supervising on-site operations including personnel, materials, and equipment.
5. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to deliver high-quality projects.
6. Inspecting work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
7. Managing and mitigating project risks and issues, and providing timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
8. Providing technical assistance, interpreting drawings, recommending construction methods, and ensuring quality control.
9. Participating in the conceptual development of construction projects and overseeing their organization, scheduling, and implementation.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the role of Permanent Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent, candidates must have:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on bridge construction.
2. Proven experience in the railroad industry.
3. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team of professionals.
5. Excellent knowledge of construction processes, equipment, safety protocols, and regulations.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and with clients.
8. Proficiency in construction software programs.
9. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
10. Certification in OSHA safety training or equivalent is highly desirable.
