Position: Inventory Control Specialist (On-site – Full-Time)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team at our Conroe, TX facility. This role is critical in maintaining accurate inventory levels to support smooth and efficient production. Responsibilities include executing physical inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and improving inventory control processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and implement a standardized cycle counting process using  Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP system.
  • Execute monthly cycle counts and manage daily count schedules in coordination with functional departments, aligning with production and warehouse workflows.
  • Communicate inventory count plans and expectations to team members across inventory, production, and warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain a strategy for achieving 100% cycle count coverage of all inventory bin locations annually.
  • Partner with Inventory, Warehouse, Production, Finance, Quality, and Engineering to identify and resolve discrepancies and contribute actionable feedback for inventory accuracy.
  • Provide daily reporting of inventory count results, discrepancies, and system accuracy; analyze trends and support the development of corrective actions.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify process gaps, recurring errors, and key drivers of inventory variances; implement and track corrective actions.
  • Support the development and tracking of inventory-related KPIs; contribute to weekly and monthly reporting packages.
  • Act as the internal champion and “super user” for GSS inventory functions; train users on correct processes and help enforce discipline in transactional accuracy.
  • Assist in improving inventory practices through BOM reviews, timely transaction posting, labeling, and material handling improvements.
  • Lead or participate in projects focused on reducing inventory variances, improving inventory value accuracy, and supporting financial reporting needs.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Finance to manage the timely disposition and removal of obsolete inventory from both physical and system records.
  • Promote cross-departmental collaboration to support inventory goals, drive accountability, and ensure consistency in standard work practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in inventory control, inventory management, or warehouse operations
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory software
  • Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and material handling procedures
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or coursework in inventory or supply chain management preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a strong plus
