Job Description

As a Logistics Coordinator you will provide support to the Logistics Department to manage the distribution of flower inventory, manage truck routes in the United States and push for continuous improvement of the department. The goal of the Logistics Department at Designers Choice LLC is to drive improvement in companywide strategies, analytics, methodologies, and systems to create a competitive advantage and optimize the use of the company’s resources.

Main Role and Responsibilities

  • Create load reports and work with trucking carriers to coordinate the shipments to Boston, Pennsylvania and other facilities within the Flower Network.
  • Consolidate the product quantity information that needs to be shipped to non-Designers Choice locations and send the pre-alert to the respective stakeholders.
  • Work with partnering companies within the Flower Network to coordinate the delivery of their product that will be shipped via Designers’ trucks outbound Miami.
  • Work with the importer logistics team to ensure all third-party vendors have delivered their product and to help resolve any discrepancies.
  • Monitor incoming flight report for potential delays and make changes to the outbound plan if necessary.
  • Track and communicate the status of the shipments to the receiving team and any changes to the outbound Miami schedule to the respective stakeholders.
  • Make weekly projections of the shipments to Boston and Pennsylvania to better optimize the truck space.
  • Input data into KPI file, generate report and send to respective stakeholders.
  • Consolidate third-party shipment information to be invoiced and send monthly reports to accounts receivable.
  • Take ownership of the Queens Flowers inventory and use it according to our needs.
  • Ensure all inventory is distributed using the FIFO method.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • Previous experience in supply chain, focusing on international logistics, supply planning or inventory management. (2 or more years preferred)
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of lean & Six Sigma principles is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers
  • Exceptional technical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement strategies in operational areas
  • Proficient in English and Spanish
  • Remote work may be available, with relocation assistance if transitioning to our main office.
