How you will make an impact: 

As the Major Gift Officer at Wesley Willows, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 50–60 major donors and prospects nationwide, strategically leading initiatives to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward these individuals to maximize philanthropic support. This role involves developing and implementing annual work plans, engaging directly with donors through personal visits, written proposals, email, phone calls, and events, and maintaining accurate records in the Raiser’s Edge/NXT database. You will collaborate closely with the VP of Advancement, executive leadership, board members, and staff to ensure consistent and effective donor engagement, including executing quarterly stewardship mailings, biannual solicitations, and coordinating face-to-face interactions with top-tier donors. As an integral member of a dynamic advancement team, you will also lead donor events and manage relationships with planned giving prospects, encouraging long-term commitment through various planned giving mechanisms.

Schedule: This role is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

What you will need: 

  • 5-7 years of development experience (required).
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree applicable field (required).
  • Strong development database/systems skills and analytical skills; experience with Raiser's Edge/NXT (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment with polished oral, written, telephone, and e-mail communication skills; ability to interact with a variety of constituencies, including Board members, donors, staff and residents.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (required).
