Project Manager – Ground Up Commercial Construction

Location: Suffolk County NY

Role Overview

Join a growing commercial construction firm specializing in design-build, general contracting, construction management, and consulting services across diverse sectors like medical, municipal, retail, hospitality, and large-scale residential developments

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of construction projects independently—from subcontractor selection and preconstruction planning through to final project closeout.
• Manage on-site project teams and field staff to ensure discipline, quality, safety, and full adherence to contract documents and schedules.
• Run weekly coordination meetings focused on budget tracking, scheduling, trade contractor updates, and regulatory compliance.
• Own the project schedule—identify variances early and implement effective recovery plans to maintain timelines.
• Oversee and manage all documentation, including submittals, RFIs, field reports, change orders, progress photos, insurance certificates, and permits.
• Drive punch-list completion, facilitate end-user training, and ensure seamless project turnover to the client.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Manager experience in commercial construction, preferably within new construction / ground up environments.
• Proven ability to manage projects independently, including field operations, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
• Strong grasp of project documentation workflows and safety compliance protocols.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to guide diverse project teams and interface with owners, architects, and regulatory agencies.

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing fast-paced commercial projects in sectors such as healthcare, multi-family, hospitality, or municipal buildings.
• Familiarity with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and other project management platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain quality and budget control on complex construction projects.
