Position Details:

Position: Special Education Teacher (LBS1)

Location: Tazewell County, IL

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Duration: August 2025 – May 2026

Caseload: Grades 5th–7th Classroom

Model: (1) Resource and (1) Cross-Categorical

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction based on IEP goals in both resource and self-contained settings.

• Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals supporting students.

• Draft and lead annual IEP meetings; participate in Tier 3 problem-solving teams as needed.

• Modify curriculum and implement instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.

• Attend district professional development, school improvement days, and teacher institutes.

• Complete CPI training (or be willing to become CPI-certified).

• Maintain compliance with all special education documentation and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field.

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.

• Experience working with students who have a range of academic and behavioral needs.
