Now Hiring: Tariff Classification Expert (Customs Compliance / Trade Specialist)

Location: Atlanta, GA 30339 (ONSITE)

Employment Type: 6-month Contract

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tariff Classification Expert to join our team. In this role, you will ensure accurate and compliant tariff classifications for imported and exported goods by analyzing technical documentation, engineering drawings, and product specifications.

What You’ll Do:

• Assign accurate HTS codes using GRIs, explanatory notes, and CBP rulings.
• Review BOMs, datasheets, and technical drawings to understand product composition and function.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and global tariff schedules.
• Identify duties, trade remedies (e.g., Section 301), and Free Trade Agreement applicability.
• Maintain classification records and develop a centralized classification database.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Compliance, and external brokers/legal counsel.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and General Rules of Interpretation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience with classification databases, CBP rulings, and customs compliance software.
• Familiarity with global trade regulations and Free Trade Agreements.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
