About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Product Strategy and Management to lead the Product and Risk Management Professional Services Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of actuarial activities, including product design, development, and pricing, as well as product maintenance, experience monitoring, and analysis. This role also involves ensuring compliance with regulations, state rate filings and approvals, and providing strategic direction and business plans for all product lines. The VP will be accountable for the group's profitable growth, working closely with senior leaders to identify product needs, and serving as an Illustration Actuary for life products as necessary. In addition to the above, the VP will have a key role in risk management, advising the President and Board on financial and risk issues, and implementing corrective actions in partnership with senior leadership. The position requires a strong focus on underwriting, including budgeting, loss ratio management, and the establishment of underwriting rules. The VP will also be involved in direct interactions with Sales Leadership and key producers to understand their business models and develop effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a background in actuarial science, a deep understanding of product and risk management, and the ability to lead a team in a dynamic and challenging environment.
